NAIC Names Committee Leaders for 2011
January 28, 2011 by Sean P. Carr
KANSAS CITY, Mo. January 26 (BestWire) — In a year where it is seeing an array of new members, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners turned to long-time regulators to lead its seven standing committees.
Last year’s president, Jane L. Cline of West Virginia, will chair the Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs Committee. Former NAIC President Sandy Praeger, of Kansas, will continue to lead the NAIC’s health reform activities as chairwoman of the Health Insurance and Managed Care Committee. NAIC leadership assigned members to committees based on members’ preferences and requirements of the association’s bylaws.
“The diverse expertise of our membership is evident in this year’s committee leadership,” NAIC President and Iowa Insurance Commissioner Susan E. Voss said in a statement. “I look forward to working with our members this year on the critical issues that will shape and improve the system of state-based regulation.”
