Allianz Life Promotes Brian Muench to Vice President, Investments

MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life) today named Brian Muench as the new vice president, Investments. In this role, Muench will be responsible for investment and portfolio management for Allianz Life’s variable annuity investment option platform and will serve as president of Allianz Investment Management LLC, a registered investment adviser with the SEC and wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz Life. “As our organization continues to evolve, we need to enhance our investment strategy,” said Axel Zehren, chief investment officer for Allianz Life. “Brian will be instrumental in this process and provide the leadership necessary to meet our company goals.” During his 13 years with Allianz, Muench has served in various investment management roles, most recently as vice president of Asset Manager Selection. Prior to joining Allianz Life, Muench was with The Principal Financial Group. Muench attended the University of Northern Iowa where he attained a Bachelor of Arts degree and has an MBA degree from Drake University. Muench also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
