  • Aspen: A World-Class Location Hosts the 2013 NAFA IMO Summit

    September 10, 2013 by Ann d'Eon

A View of St. Regis Resort, Aspen

The 2013 NAFA IMO Summit will be held in the spectacular village of Aspen at the deluxe St. Regis resort on October 16-18, 2013. NAFA members can experience this 180 room prestigious resort located at the base of Aspen Mountain at a special rate of $229 plus tax. Reservations will be accepted at this rate until September 20, 2013. Visit www.nafameetings.com for more information.  The St. Regis is known for its quality service and guest experience and has recently undergone a $40 million renovation.

This year’s IMO Summit is a unique event that brings together the industry’s leaders to address and strategize over the most important issues facing fixed annuities. The event follows June’s NAFA Annuity Leadership Forum which was held June 12 – 14 in Arlington, VA, where the marketing and compliance leaders of various independent marketing organizations discussed the most important compliance, regulatory, legal and government relations issues surrounding fixed annuities.

Striking Location for a World-Class Event

Aspen has the ability to make you feel as though you’re in another world, yet at the same time gives you access to everything you need for a vacation or a meeting. The weather in October is pleasant and is ideal to enjoy the varied activities that Aspen offers. There are abundant art galleries and excellent and varied shops that are very close to the hotel as well as many outdoor activities that include mountain biking, trail hiking, fly fishing, skeet shooting, horseback riding, and golf. This area of Colorado is known for its beautiful vistas making photographic opportunities bountiful. A favorite Aspen activity is the scenic ride on the Silver Queen Gondola with lunch at the top of Aspen Mountain.

The St. Regis Aspen is in an ideal location for this year’s IMO Summit within steps of world class shopping and excellent restaurants. It’s enjoyable to simply walk and explore the charming village. Restaurants are plentiful and the types of cuisine varied. The St. Regis features distinctive choices:

Chefs Club by FOOD & WINE an innovative new restaurant concept that handpicks FOOD & WINE’s “Best New Chefs,” up-and-coming culinary talent with distinctive style and vision to curate a one-of-a-kind , seasonally inspired menu.

Trecento Quindici Decano Restaurant is the St. Regis Aspen’s newest signature restaurant offering contemporary Italian and American cuisines with handmade pizzas and pastas.

Many other culinary options are nearby – many within walking distance in Aspen village, including French, Italian, Fusion, Steak, Latin, Japanese, American and Casual cuisine.

United offers many flights directly to the Aspen airport (ASE) and the St. Regis provides hotel guests complimentary airport transportation from Aspen Airport (ASE) for all commercial flights. Aspen Airport is 3 miles from the resort. Aspen’s secondary airport is Eagle (EGE) located 65 miles (approx. 1 hour) from Aspen while Denver International Airport is a 3.5 hour car ride – but less than a 30 minute flight. Car rentals are readily available or ground transportation arrangements to/from these alternative airports can be arranged via the following companies:
