  • Use the Power of Hollywood to Get the Life Insurance Message Out

September 15, 2015 by Marvin Feldman

It’s easy to participate in September’s Life Insurance Awareness Month campaign, especially with the support of celebrity spokesperson Anthony Anderson.

How often do you get the power of a Hollywood star behind your business? Well, thanks to Life Happens, you’ll have just that during September’s Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM).

Anthony Anderson, executive producer and star of the hit TV show black-ish, and host of Eating America, is taking on the role as the 2015 national spokesperson for LIAM, and you can take advantage of his star power (he was just nominated for an Emmy!) in your outreach to clients and prospects.

Anthony grew up in a very modest household where life insurance was important—a key bill to pay. Plus, with the death of his brother and father, he has firsthand knowledge of how life insurance can help a family financially. From experience, he’s got a powerful message to consumers: “You need to plan for the future. You have no idea what tomorrow will bring, but you can deal with that today. When you get life insurance, then the future of your family is taken care of.”

He has done a great public service announcement video about the importance of life insurance, which will be aired nationally during LIAM and you can share it with your clients and prospects by using this link: www.lifehappens.org/anthony.

This message, however, is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the vast number of resources that Life Happens has created for LIAM so that you can easily and effectively pull together a marketing campaign for September. We’ve done the marketing so you can focus on the sales.

For all the Life Happens LIAM materials, go to www.lifehappens.org/liam. You’ll be asked to create an account, if you haven’t already. Once signed up, you’ll have access to:

    • Messaging from LIAM celebrity spokesperson Anthony Anderson on his personal life insurance story and the importance and affordability of life insurance, available through a video (see the link above), flyers and social-media graphics.
    • New videos, including two “Fast Fact” videos that help break down the basics of life insurance and a series of five videos focused on the “True Cost” of life insurance to help educate the public.
    • Three new Real Life Stories, in the form of videos and flyers, that show how everyday people benefited from life insurance at their time of greatest need.
    • A wide range of social-media posts and graphics, which are organized by both subject matter and in a calendar format, so you can leverage a Facebook post and Tweet for each day of LIAM, and a whole lot more.

Just that last bullet—a month of prewritten social-media posts—should get your attention. You’ve now officially run out of excuses if you’ve ever said, “I just don’t have time to do social media.” We’ve actually done September’s social-media campaign for you.

We want to make it easy for you to reach out to clients and prospects during September, because more than 100 million adult Americans have no life insurance, and we’re counting on you to help us turn the tide on that number.
