The primary responsibility is to lead Actuarial Management functions and oversee the valuation of life and/or annuity insurance business.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design and Oversee valuation of Life and/or Annuity Insurance liabilities using a variety of regimes: Stat/ PBR, GAAP, Tax, Embedded Value
    • Build and manage projections used for Financial Plan, Embedded Value, ALM, CFT, ERM and any other business need
    • Analyze and mitigate key areas of risk of the insurance (life and/or annuity) business
    • Develop and own assumptions related to the insurance (life and/or annuity) business
    • Actively participate and influence strategic initiatives
    • Continuously improve efficiency throughout actuarial management functions
    • Oversee regulatory and audit deliverables
    • Provide necessary training and education to ensure fully skilled and flexible team
    • Manage staff to provide thorough and efficient results
    • Work collaboratively with cross functional teams to provide successful implementation of projects including but not limited to: new products, acquisitions and reinsurance initiatives
    • Deliver ad hoc actuarial requests efficient and accurately

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Minimum 8-10+ years of actuarial leadership experience including valuation and modeling. Preference towards IUL, ULSG, and AG43
    • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic background in actuarial science, applied statistics, mathematics, or related discipline
    • Individual will be a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
    • Strategic thinker; able to take multiple focused views and translate across all Nassau entities
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
    • Ability to produce accurate and efficient results in a timely manner
    • Ability to work in an unstructured and dynamic environment
    • Outstanding communication and collaborative skills; able to forge strong partnerships across various Nassau entities
