Kent Sullivan, the Texas insurance commissioner, says he’ll be giving up that post in September and returning to the private sector.
Sullivan has not yet said what he expects to do in the private sector.
In Texas, the governor appoints the insurance the commissioner. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, appointed Sullivan to be commissioner in October 2017.
Sullivan succeeded David Mattax, who died from cancer in April 2017.
