How Insurers, Trying to Gain Edge, Peek at What Rivals Are Doing

There have been recent layoffs in the life insurance industry, but Sheryl Moore, CEO of Wink, said she hasn’t seen a trend in cutting competitive intelligence roles at companies.
She considers Wink, which publishes Wink’s Sales & Market Report, a competitive intelligence provider. Her company relies on data that includes publicly available information like regulatory filings as well as sales data provided directly from insurers.

“There’s not like a template of ‘here’s what competitive intel people do,’” she said.
