Job Summary
This person will support the co-CIO’s to project manage and help produce all investment related deliverables, including researching new investment ideas, strategic asset allocation and ALM, pricing new business deals, day to day management of the portfolio, and Board and IC reporting.
This position reports to the co-CIOs of the investments team. They will interact with key members of external asset managers serving the Company in addition to interacting with other F&G functional team members to ensure progress and continuity of investment related projects. They will also be responsible for managing any investment analysts that may join the team.
Duties And Responsibilities
- SAA & ALM strategy
- Liaise with the actuarial & investment risk teams, and external managers, to get the inputs needed to run the SAA analysis
- Build proficiency in setting up and running the SAA tool & analysis
- Familiarity with the Conning SAA tool preferred
- Multi-Year Plan – support the team in providing investment related inputs for the Plan
- TAA
- Optimize around the SAA for current market conditions to support product pricing
- Track purchase allocation and yields vs priced allocation and yields
- Investment Operations
- Transaction blotter, tag assets purchased, reconcile with external managers
- Liaise with Treasury/Middle Office/Investment Accounting
- Improve operational efficiency of the cash management process
- Communicate with external managers to get cash invested
- Portfolio maintenance: Create process and maintain asset segmentation by entity/line of business to ensure alignment with earnings/ALM targets
- Create investment reporting tools out of Clearwater
- Investment Due Diligence
- Liaise with internal cross functional teams to vet new investments
- Project manage process from ideation to implementation
- Create and maintain documentation
- Reporting – To various constituents like the Board, Investment Committee, rating agencies, regulators
- Support annual processes – cashflow testing, DAC unlocking/true-up
- Serve as Project Manager and assist with the production of all investment related deliverables
- Provide ad-hoc analytical requests
Experience And Education Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, investments or related field.
- 4-7 years of investment-related experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the investments team of an insurance company or insurance asset manager
- Knowledge of capital markets, fixed income asset classes, alternatives and insurance liabilities
- Demonstrated strong technical and financial modeling skills with the ability to automate/streamline current processes
- Strong capabilities required in MS PowerPoint, Excel, SQL, VBA, Access/database, Bloomberg and FactSet
- Strong capabilities preferred in Python, Alteryx, Tableau, Conning’s SAA tool, Moody’s Risk Frontier, BlackRock Aladdin, Clearwater
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills
- Team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial
