Pacific Life’s Whirlwind Month: New Hires, Dropped Products, Layoffs

As one of their first actions, the company’s new leaders decided to kill Pacific PremierCare, a life insurance policy that also pays long-term care benefits. The decision might seem somewhat surprising, as not many companies are exiting the business, according to Sheryl Moore, CEO of Wink, publisher of Wink’s Sales & Market Report.
“If anything, hybrid products are getting more attention lately from companies within, and outside of, the product line,” she said in an email. It’s hard to imagine that the decision to discontinue the products isn’t coming from the new C-suite at Pacific Life, she added.
