    The ideal candidate will be located in commutable distance to our Montpelier, Vermont or Addison, Texas campus with the travel flexibility to have a frequent presence in both locations.

We are hiring an experienced Head of Marketing to help us keep growing. We are looking for a leader to join and head our marketing and brand efforts. In this role, you will lead the marketing and brand efforts for National Life Group to support the growth of our life and annuity business. This individual will serve in a leadership role in the Marketing Organization of National Life Group and will report to the Chief Marketing Officer. This role combines high integrity leadership, critical thinking, relationship management, and effective execution to position National Life Group as a transformative and highly skilled marketing organization.

    Responsibilities for Head of Marketing

    • Lead a team of marketing consultants and leaders to develop marketing strategies, field communication—digital and print, develop recommendations on channel approach and help drive execution of marketing strategies while maximizing their employee’s potential to meet company, team, project, and individual objectives.
    • Prioritize and coordinate business and market reviews, planning meetings, marketing town halls, distribution conferences and other ad hoc events to support Distribution—Independent and Affiliated.
    • Develop a yearly budget including forecasting and trends for the marketing team
    • Communicate the brand identity with the team and manage brand with IMOs, Agencies, and Agents
    • Leverage marketing data and competitive intelligence to find the important trends while leading through strategies to effectively compete
    • Partner with Distribution leaders to support marketing efforts with strategic planning that helps them meet sales and recruiting goals.
    • Influence product, digital, social media and brand strategies through implementation
    • Develop thought leadership specifically tied to digital first initiatives such as e-kits, Apps, internet and intranet websites tools and resources that support the selling and buying customer.
    • Oversee and manage the execution of a training curriculum that ensures a coordinated and progressive approach to agent, agencies, and IMOs on-boarding and on-going education.
    • Stay up to date on the latest marketing trends with the goal of reporting out and applying where applicable

    Qualifications for Head of Marketing

    • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum 12 years of experience and demonstrated ability to build out marketing and business strategies with specific outcomes and impact on sales, engagement, loyalty, retention, and profitable growth. 
    • Experience in the life insurance, annuity, retirement, or investment industries (financial services), preferred
    • Ability to lead multiple projects at once with a strong drive for results
    • Proven cross‐functional leadership experience, with proven results driven both directly and through partners.
    • Clear and concise communication (speech and writing) and presentation skills
    • Experienced leader who is a strong advocate of teamwork, performance excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Ability to analyze problems and create a solution
    • A customer focused attitude

    The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
