Summary of the role
The SVP Wealth Management Solutions will be responsible for wealth management solutions strategy, including products, programs, and platforms. The current product suite includes annuities, mutual funds, model portfolios, life insurance and advisory solutions. This role also has responsibility for integrating wealth management platforms and fin-tech solutions to further enable the business. This position works closely with and reports to the President, VALIC Financial Advisors, and works closely with the Chief Distribution Officer.
About the role
Works closely with the President, VALIC Financial Advisors, and management team in delivering products and defining future strategies to ensure long-term success.
Leads the Broker/Dealer product strategy including retail annuity, mutual fund, model portfolios, life insurance and other product offerings.
Leads team of product managers and support team responsible for the product shelf.
Develops and manages overall program governance framework for the Investment Advisor & broker-dealer, including product admission and monitoring, along with responsible for adhering to regulatory requirements that govern the business, FINRA, SEC, state securities and insurance commissions.
Oversees and manages all regulatory related reporting, fee-billing, and disclosure responsibilities for the Investment Adviser
Leads initial and ongoing due diligence for products, portfolios, and product related systems
Provides leadership to the product strategy and implementation teams for assigned product lines and work closely with units across the combined Retirement Services business.
Monitors progress and ensures product launches, pricing, training, and training are met.
Ensures proper procedures are in place to meet required regulatory aspects.
Identify opportunities to streamline and implement more efficient and effective measures for speed to market considerations.
Collaborates with the Head of Risk, Chief Compliance Officers, Legal, CFO and Strategy and Pricing (where applicable) to align on product shelf, fin-tech delivery platforms, and future opportunities to enhance the wealth management program and to adhere to all regulatory requirements to offer such products consistent with the risk-based approach and profile for the firm.
What we are looking for
10+ years of experience of product knowledge within the wealth management industry understanding levers that create revenue. Strong understanding of trends and opportunities with fin-tech wealth management platforms
Series 7, 24, 65/66, life insurance/annuity license as well as Series 63; or the ability to obtain full licenses within 90 days of hire date highly preferred
Professional Designations such as CIMA, CFP, ChFC, AIF or related designations a plus
