Silac Taps New Volatility Control Index Tied to Gold as Markets Swoon

Still, volatility control indexes are proliferating and more than 200 are available with fixed-indexed annuities, which had a record year last year, according to market researcher Wink research.

Sales of fixed-indexed annuities in 2024 surged nearly 34% over the year before to $130 billion, Wink‘s Sales & Market Report revealed earlier. These annuities are structured not to lose principal while the amount of interest credited is linked to the performance of an external index.
