Wink’s Moore on the Market: Just catching-up on some reading, and this one stuck-out to me.
I WISH someone had had a conversation with my Dad (and myself?) about ensuring that he had a durable power of attorney.
Now that he has Alzheimer’s, I had to go through the conservatorship and guardianship process (through the courts).
In the interim, someone has taken over $15,000.00 from my Dad.
If only his financial advisor had this conversation with him, before it were too late!
Do your clients a favor. Talk with them about power of attorneys, conservatorships and guardianships. Before that ship has sailed… -sjm
