Twenty years ago, I married The Hottest Man Alive.

It was the happiest day of my life, and still is.

What has contributed to our wonderful marriage?

1. We put one another first.

(I’m thirsty; better check to see if THMA is too…)

2. We respect each other.

(He thinks The Home Depot has the cheapest appliances, and I think Lowe’s Companies, Inc. does; but we listen to one another’s perspectives anyhow.)

3. We never carry our extremely infrequent disagreements into the next day.

(I may be upset that he put a barn door and tree branch spindles on our Victorian treehouse, but the following morning is a new day.)

4. We are one another’s best friend.

(We tell one another everything.)

5. We make time for one another.

(The Chophouse at 801 Grand is the go-to for date nights.)

6. We don’t want to live without one another.

(We hope that we pass together, so we never have to spend a day apart.)

7. We snuggle at bedtime EVERY night.

(And a kiss finishes the day off!)

These are just a few of the things that have kept us together for nearly 25 years.
