Annuities in 401(k)s? Savers show interest, but advisors are hesitan
July 1, 2025 by Elijah Nicholson-Messmer
A vast majority of workers say that employers have a responsibility to help them achieve guaranteed income in retirement, and many think annuities are the way to do it, according to a new survey from Nuveen and the TIAA Institute.
Wink’s Moore on the Market: I don’t know about you, but what I am reading here indicates that 91% of respondents indicate than an annuity option in a 401(k) would be valuable, to some degree.
That is a HUGE percentage!
And as for, “…advisors say that workers are often drawn to annuities because of their relative simplicity,” I’ve NEVER heard that! (Refreshing, refreshing…)
That said, a lot of the tired old claims about annuities are sprinkled throughout this article. Take it for what it is worth. -sjm
