How will life insurance be distributed 10 years from now?

My friend Todd Allen, MSM, CLU®, ChFC®, AIF® wanted me to post the following question:

“With some projecting 70% of productive agents now being over age 55, and retiring in 10 years, how will life insurance be distributed 10 years from now?

Does anyone know of any carriers asking themselves this uncomfortable question and exploring alternative distribution mechanisms?”

Personally, I don’t see the direct-to-consumer distribution panning out. The Haven Life’s and Ethos of the world have proven that this method isn’t viable.
