October 28, 2025 by Pacific Life Insurance Company

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Pacific Life announced today the creation of a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina. Pacific Life expects to create 300 new jobs in Mecklenburg County over the next five years.

“Companies like Pacific Life know they can find the deep pool of specialized talent they need in North Carolina,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Charlotte’s national reputation as one of the nation’s top financial services centers continues to attract great companies to our state. We’re proud to welcome Pacific Life.”

Pacific Life is a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Newport Beach, California. For nearly 160 years, it has delivered on its purpose to provide Confidence for Generations to its members, customers and distribution partners. Pacific Life offers a wide range of life insurance, annuity and employee benefit products that support individuals and families with their financial needs, along with a variety of investment products and services to individuals, businesses and pension plans.

“Attracting and developing leading talent is central to Pacific Life’s growth strategy,” said Pacific Life President and CEO Darryl Button. “Charlotte is home to a thriving workforce, and we look forward to welcoming new talent to the Pacific Life team to help drive our long-term success. This expansion effort was a true partnership between many in North Carolina, and we want to thank Governor Stein, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina for all their efforts and support in the decision-making process.”

Pacific Life has secured an 11-year lease of 68,000 square feet of office space across three floors at the Queensbridge Collective in Charlotte’s central business district, with occupancy expected in 2028. Employees will have access to a fitness and wellness center, a 1-acre outdoor green space, a variety of retail and dining options, and will be just one block away from a light rail station. In the interim, the company has leased approximately 25,000 square feet of office space less than a mile away from the Queensbridge Collective in uptown Charlotte overlooking the stadium.

We invest in our employees and strive to foster a work environment that is challenging, inclusive, collaborative and results oriented,” said Laura Cushing, executive vice president and chief people experience officer, Pacific Life. “Charlotte is a region that is recognized for its talented workforce, particularly within the financial services industry, so our presence here was a thoughtful and strategic decision. We are excited to offer new opportunities from early career to leadership roles, within the actuarial, finance, technology and human resources disciplines.
