There ARE legitimate uses for life insurance and annuities.

Dear financial planners,
Life insurance is not an investment.
Buy term and invest the difference is a failed strategy.
Annuities are not a product that are intended to maximize outperform equities.
Stocks and a bond fund cannot provide a guaranteed income floor.
There ARE legitimate uses for life insurance and annuities. AND a great number of people need these solutions.
I don’t understand how someone with a fiduciary responsibility cannot suggest that their clients look into life insurance if they are concerned about what would happen to their family in the event of their untimely death?
Likewise, I don’t understand how someone with a fiduciary responsibility cannot suggest that their clients look into annuities if they are worried about running out of money in retirement?
If you are not licensed to offer these solutions, why not explore making an alliance with a trusted and licensed insurance agent? Or, research Outsourced Insurance Desks (OIDs) that can help you and your clients? -sjm
