If you look too young to be in college, please don’t buy an IUL (not kidding- I did).

I am certain that I am going to ruffle some feathers with this one.
“Who should NOT buy an IUL?”
For starters- this girl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lNoUTxx2m4
If you look too young to be in college, please don’t buy an IUL (not kidding- I did).
“There are people in this industry that would sell IUL to ANY body.” Yeah, I’ve seen it.
“One of the most powerful tools available to everyday families right now…” You mean powerful LIFE INSURANCE, right?
“Tax free growth?” As if it is an investment?
“No market losses?” What about “losses” due to earning 0% interest and having to pay for your LIFE INSURANCE?
“No contribution limits.” Making it sound like a retirement plan…come on!
“Access to money before retirement with no penalties.” That is because it is cash value life insurance. Wow. And no penalties? You may actually have to deal with a surrender “penalty,” and your death benefit will be reduced by the amount of the loan and loan INTEREST.
“You should not buy IUL if you’re living paycheck to paycheck with no emergency fund.” hashtagFacts. Do not buy life insurance if you cannot afford food and gas.
“[If] you need pure death benefit coverage…that’s what term life insurance is for.” If you are going to keep things real, there ARE quite a number of indexed ULs that are priced primarily for maximizing your death benefit, similar to term, but provide coverage for a lifetime- not just a set number of years.
“[If] you’re looking for a get rich quick miracle…this is a 10-15 year minimum strategy.” Let me reiterate- THIS IS LIFE INSURANCE. Why would one pay for life insurance for the first [15] years (literally the most expensive time to own a life insurance product), and then bail out? “Let’s pay insurance charges and not benefit from the life insurance!” *insert eye roll here* And more of the making it sound like a retirement plan. Surprise, surprise.
“Do not buy an IUL if the agent can not explain to you what the floor, the cap to the participation rate [and] the cost of insurance is.” How about premium loads, policy fees, per 1,000 charges, % of fund charges, surrender charges, illustrated rates and more?
“You’re a great investor…” Indexed life is a fixed life insurance product, not an investment.
When @_MotivationalMK wants to provide videos that actually help IUL prospects, she can do her homework and try again.
She says that “IUL is the most misrepresented product in this industry right now. Watch before you spend a dollar.” She is holding herself out as an expert on this product and yet is misrepresenting the product herself.
Don’t be a part of the problem; be a part of the solution! -sjm
