ANNUITY
07/15/26: Eagle Life Insurance Company discontinued sales on their Lifetime Income Benefit Rider (LIBR) with a 14% rollup GLWB. Meanwhile, on the LIBR 12% rollup GLWB, the company modified their payout factors to be based on issue age AND years of deferral. They also reduced the waiting period to exercise benefit withdrawals on the rider. This impacted the Eagle Select Income Focus and Income Focus 10 products.
07/23/26: Mountain Life Insurance Company increases the street level commission on the Secure Summit 6 MYG annuity.
07/27/26: American General Life Insurance Company added the new “Protected Growth Benefit,” a Guaranteed Minimum Accumulation Benefit (GMAB) rider that trues-up at the close of the surrender charge penalty. AGL Power Index 5 Plus (Wells & national), Power Index 7 Plus (Wells) and Power Index Plus all feature the new GMAB. The company also introduced new annual point-to-point indexing methods using the S&P 500 and cap, which are guaranteed for the term, on the Power Index 5 & 7 Plus and Power Index Plus. At the same time, the Corebridge subsidiary introduced asset allocation models on the Power Index 5 & 7 Plus, Power Index Plus, Power Index Plus Income, and AG Choice Index 10. Lots to unpack here.
07/27/26: Delaware Life Insurance Company wants you to know that they are in the bonus game this month, with their new TrackGuard+ indexed annuity. The premium bonus on this product, which only two other companies can claim to exceed, is a great challenge to the folks that are #1 in annuity sales. Another thumb of the nose toward the #1 seller of indexed annuities? A Return of Premium (ROP) feature. Interestingly, TrackGuard also features buy-up rates for a fee. On top of that, there is a “product fee” on the contract. While the liquidity on this product is less than your typical indexed annuity, it does allow the purchaser to take up to a 28% penalty-free, if withdrawals have not been taken in the preceding years. Oh- and the comp? It is in line with the typical street compensation, but the agent can qualify for supplemental compensation that is based upon production as well. Knowing what their overrides look like, I would say that a certain “A” company has a target on their back, product-wise. Well played, Delaware Life. Well played.
07/27/26: Forethought Life Insurance Company increased payouts on the Guaranteed Income Builder GLWB and reduced the “Active Enhancement Percentage,” which affects both ForeIncome II and ForeIncome II Advisory indexed annuities.
07/27/26: Plateau Insurance Company partners with Trellis Financial to launch their new Perennial 10 indexed annuity. This new product features a competitive Guaranteed Lifetime Withdrawal Benefit (GLWB) shadow fund bonus. The ten-year annuity has traditional indices, save an intraday hybrid index. However, there are two other things that will get your attention on this annuity. One- the 0.50% charge on their competitive GLWB that has a benefit base that grows daily. Two- their technology. *mic drop* ‘Nuff said.
07/28/26: Integrity Life Insurance Company introduces a new annual point-to-point indexing method, utilizing a new hybrid index with a cap. They also launched a new two-year term end point indexing method, utilizing the same hybrid index, but using a participation rate. While they were at it, Integrity also increased guarantee on the true up GMAB rider, which is featured on the Indextra series of indexed annuities.
