Life Insurance Needs a Market Conduct Standards Supplement, Consumer Rep Says

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners should start a working group that will develop an addition to the existing life insurance market conduct standards, according to Dick Weber.
The new working group should create a new set of standards that would be comparable to the rules that the Insurance Marketplace Standards Association developed when it was in operation, from 1997 through 2010, Weber said. He said the standards could be added to the introduction to the handbook that regulators use when they’re learning how to perform market conduct examinations.
