For decades, the 4% withdrawal rule has been the gold standard for retirement spending. But new research is challenging that strategy with a hybrid approach.
The research from Mark Warshawsky, senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and Gaobo Pang and commissioned by the American Council of Life Insurers, found that while the 4% plan works, it is not optimal.
