The retirement issue that keeps the head of annuities at New York Life up at night

Wink’s Moore on the Market: You have my attention, Matthew Wion, of New York Life!
“…only 52% of Americans are confident their retirement savings will last the rest of their lives. That number jumps to 87% among those who work with a financial professional, have a financial strategy and own annuities.”
It sounds so basic, but it is true. All of the studies I have seen over the past 27 years indicate that people who own annuities have more confidence that their income will last for the rest of their lives.
Time to educate the masses about annuities…
(P.S. Matthew Wion– I see that NYL is finally offering indexed annuities. When are you plans to launch a structured annuity/RILA?) -sjm
