AnnuitySpecs.com’s Indexed Sales & Market Report, 4th Quarter 2010 shows fourth quarter 2010 indexed annuity sales were $8374 million compared with sales of $8770 million for the previous quarter. Fourth quarter sales were down almost 5% when compared with the previous quarter and up nearly 19% when compared with the same period one year ago. This was the third consecutive record year for indexed annuity sales, blowing the previous 2009 record out of the water by more than 7%.
Total 4Q2010 indexed annuity sales were $8,374,453,457.

Indexed life sales were $221 million compared with sales of $165 million for the previous quarter. Fourth quarter sales were up more than 33% when compared with the previous quarter and up over 36% when compared with the same period one year ago. It was both a record-setting quarter and a record-setting year for indexed life sales, blowing the previous 2009 record out of the water by nearly 30%.

Total 2010 indexed life sales were $695,955,369.
