Finra to Merge Examination and Risk Monitoring Programs
October 2, 2018 by Alex Padalka
Industry self-regulator Finra is planning to combine its risk monitoring and examination programs under one umbrella, according to a press release from the organization.
The move, which comes as a result of the regulator’s FINRA360 self-assessment program, will merge three separate programs as a way to increase consistency and efficiency and help member firms by providing them with a “single point of accountability,” the regulator says.
The three current programs cover business conduct, financial and trading compliance. Putting them under one roof is expected to better align Finra’s examination resources to companies’ risk profiles, according to the press release.
