Pacific Life, Agent Face Suit Over $500K Payment That Vanished

riminals who pretended to be Pacific Life executives fooled an agent into causing an applicant to send them a $500,000 payment, according to a new lawsuit.
The plaintiff, William Machin, filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

A gentleman applied for life insurance with Pacific Life.
His agent gave him instructions on how to wire $500,000 to Pac, for the premium on the policy.

Hackers intercepted the $500,000!
I think the agent should have had a heads-up that something was askew, when the wire recipients had email addresses ending in “pacificcife.com” instead of “pacificlife.com.”
I guess we have to know more about how this all went down, before we can predict how it will go… -sjm
