We are looking for two successful candidates with annuity sales experience to join our team as External Wholesalers. One located in California and the other in Florida.

This position will fulfill one of two external wholesaler roles within our Independent Broker/dealer division. The External Wholesalers will be responsible for driving annuity sales in an assigned territory by phone, email, online and in-person meetings. Specifically, these positions will be responsible for illustrating an increased field emphasis on fixed, indexed, and Registered Indexed Linked annuities sold within the registered space. One associate will be responsible for growing the west territory and other will be responsible for the east.
Job Description
- Develop and maintain working relationships with Financial Advisors
- Assist sales team members in developing new business within the Broker/Dealer Channel
- Coordinate all aspects of territory management with Divisional Sales Directors to develop new and maintain existing business
- Create and maintain strong relationships with key advisors at a national level through call campaigns and other forms of communication
- Work with Divisional Sales Manager to develop and maintain relationships with key financial advisors, existing producers and centers of influence within target market
- Build calling strategy and focused travel rotation to employ circuit-like coverage within coverage area
- Attend required industry conferences and events
- Maintain expert knowledge of relevant industry research, trends and flows
- Responsible for maintaining pipeline and activities through SalesForce
Responsibilities
- Ability to effectively engage, develop and maintain relationships through in-person, phone, email, and virtual outreach
- Recruits new advisors in assigned territory to write MassMutual Ascend annuities
- Strong prospecting through targeted efforts to convert new producers
- Partner with external wholesalers in the territory to uncover and drive new opportunities.
- New partner onboarding, education, and training activities
- Use data and industry metrics to efficiently target advisors fitting our target market
- Act as a point of contact for assigned territory with frequent interaction that include Registered Representative as well as internal stakeholders to meet territory sales targets
- Work with team members to accomplish department and company related initiatives and goals
- Work with Marketing to implement successful sales programs and targeted campaigns
- Conduct sales promotions and product training meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience within firms such as Atria, Cetera, Osaic, and Raymond James
- Existing knowledge of fixed, indexed, variable, and a strong emphasis on RILA annuities
- Excellent communication skills including conflict resolution and ability to negotiate
- Bachelor’s degree in investment management, insurance, finance, business, or related field
- Possess in-depth understanding of the financial industry, financial concepts, product knowledge, investment management, competitive information and client-service strategies
- Demonstrated consultative selling and relationship management experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills as well as presentation and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated use of discretion and judgment when dealing with financial professionals and end clients
- Strong organizational and delegation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to be self-directed, self-managed, possesses proven decision-making skills and sound judgment
- 2+ years as an External Wholesaler
- Ability to travel 50% or more
Required
- Current life and health license
- Preferred FINRA registrations – Series 6 or 7, 63, 65
