Event included presentations from major carrier representatives, unique sales ideas and introductions to new products San Diego, CA – The Producers Group (TPG) held a Leadership Conference for its Women’s Professional Group (WPG) on March 26 to March 28 at its corporate office in San Diego, California.
“The WPG Leadership Conference was an incredible success” said Eric Freundt, Managing Partner of The Producers Group. “We were joined by some of our industry’s leading female producers, each bringing with them a unique perspective on the insurance business. While the event was created as an educational environment for the group, it also provided TPG an opportunity to gain insight into how we can better assist female brokers in their business.”
The WPG Leadership Conference agenda included:
• presentations from top carriers including, Principal Financial Group®, Prudential, Legal & General America
and The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America;
• unique sales ideas;
• an open advisory forum; and
• a LinkedIn and Social media instructional guide.
“I was honored to be an attendee at the WPG meeting,” said, Tammie Shannon, President and CEO of Shannon Insurance Group, Inc. “Between networking opportunities, social media seminars and the introduction to new and exciting products, I walked away from The WPG meeting feeling refreshed and energized! I couldn’t wait for Monday to arrive so I could share the information with my staff and begin implementing the things we learned right away.”
Formed in 2013, The WPG was created to give the female insurance professional a forum for discussion, education and input. The WPG will be used as a vehicle in which these insurance professionals can speak to The Producers Group, about what they need specifically to grow their business and increase their revenue.
“Stepping up to the trusted insurance professional role is not an easy task for women insurance professionals, an area that has traditionally been dominated by men,” said, Raquel Murphy, Assistant Vice President of HUB International Northeast Limited. “However, with more women in corporate positions of CEO, CFO and COO there is a growing awareness and demand for diversity in the insurance professional team they hire. The PG’s Women’s Professional Group is a great resource for these professionals to gather sales ideas, stay current in our industry, and have access to top carriers all within a supportive and collaborative environment.”
The goals for the WPG organization include:
• increase female producers in the industry and to help increase business from existing producers;
• create synergy from existing female producers by bouncing ideas off one another and discovering what will really make a difference in their businesses; and
• determine what TPG and their carriers can do to better assist female producers.
