WASHINGTON, Sept. 15 –The Insured Retirement Institute issued the following news release:
The Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) today issued a statement from IRI President and CEO Cathy Weatherford to recognize National Financial Advisor Week and the important part financial advisors have in preparing Americans for a financially secure retirement. IRI is a sponsor of this year’s inaugural National Financial Advisor Week event, which will take place Sept. 15 to 19 in New York.
Statement from IRI President and CEO Cathy Weatherford:
“Saving for retirement is the number one financial goal for Americans today. Changing dynamics and demographics have made the task of saving and preparing for retirement more difficult than in the past, and at the same time, have shifted the bulk of the responsibility to individuals. Yet, in this new era of retirement planning, Americans are not alone. Many have sought and found peace of mind by planning with the help of a financial advisor. When we study Americans’ retirement expectations, those who are planning for retirement with the help of a financial professional – by more than a two-to-one ratio – are likely to be among those who are most confident in their retirement prospects. They also exhibit better savings habits and retirement planning behaviors. Attaining financial security in retirement is an achievable goal for Americans, and the financial advice provided by trusted financial professionals will help get them there.”
