The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company announced the election of James S. Hunt to the Horsham, Pa., company’s board of trustees.
Hunt spent 15 years with Ernst & Young, and most recently as executive vice president and CFO with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide, where he worked on an executive team that was responsible for leading the business through a period of significant global expansion and product diversification, as well as global business technology strategy. Hunt retired from The Walt Disney Company in 2012 after 20 years of service.
The election to Penn Mutual’s board comes at a time when the company is placing an emphasis on building its brand visibility and customer engagement, according to the firm.
Eileen C. McDonnell, chairman, president and chief executive officer at Penn Mutual, explains that Jim’s professional experience in the financial and consumer space will be invaluable for Penn Mutual. “His insights, coming from a well-respected consumer brand such as Disney, will help us build what we hope will be an irresistible experience for our advisors and clients,” she says. “We have important growth and brand building efforts underway, and we’re confident that Jim’s experience will not only add to our already strong board, but will also give us new perspectives as we attract new customers and talent to Penn Mutual.”
In addition to Penn Mutual, Hunt serves on the Board of Directors of Brown & Brown, Inc., where he is a member of both the audit and compensation committees and the Board of Trustees of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, as chair of the finance committee.
