BLS: November Insurance Jobs Bounce Back After Flat October

WASHINGTON – After a flat showing in October, hiring ticked up in the insurance industry as companies added 2,900 employees in November, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The bump was 0.1%, bringing insurance employment to an estimated 2,735,300, BLS data showed.
It was a small rebound from the previous month’s preliminary report, which found insurance industry jobs remained flat in October, compared with September employment levels, marking the first time the industry showed stagnant hiring since August 2018 (Best’s News Service, Nov. 1, 2019).
On an annual basis, overall insurance industry employment for November 2019 showed a gain of 32,700 jobs, compared with the 2018 level, BLS data shows.
