Unique Financial Service Needs for the ASD Community

Another group that has unique needs when it comes to financial services is the ASD community.
For those of you who are not in the ASD circle, Autism Spectrum Disorder affects more than 1 out of 54 Americans.
My youngest son was diagnosed as ASD at the age of three.
It was difficult to figure out what was going on, but my little guy freaks-out when he gets out of a routine; he has severe OCD tendencies; he is scared when someone he doesn’t know comes into our home; he is terrified of loud noises.
I am grateful for friends like Tracey Edgar, RN, BSN, CLTC who have not only shared wisdom and guidance on this diagnosis, but also enlightened me to the reality that those who are neurodiverse may have challenges, but are just like the rest of us, and can achieve anything.
I recently made a new friend- Robert Dillard, Life, Retirement income specialist. His business specializes in working with families affected by ASD.
AND- a friend I’ve had for a couple of years recently had the spotlight focused on his business via InsuranceNewsNet. Andrew Komarow, CFP® ChSNC® MSFS, AEP® CAP®is the founder of Planning Across The Spectrum, and a heck of a financial services professional. Not only that, half of his staff has ASD! 🙂
